About us

It all started in 2007.

Dan had gambled since he was 16, before becoming a Christian. Even when he followed Jesus, he didn’t see a problem with this habit. But, over the course of just a year, he spiralled into a gambling addiction. This photo shows him in the middle of that terrible period, aged 27.

This gambling addiction nearly cost him his wife, home, and everything that mattered.

He sought help.

But there wasn’t any support for Christians who gamble. Through the grace of God and prayer, Dan stopped gambling.

He wondered: what if there was somewhere that understood grace, and didn’t just focus on the problem but focused on hope for the future?

So in 2015 he founded Better Futures for Gamblers.

Our passion is to see gamblers be redeemed by God, and for the Church to take a stand for holiness in this arena.

We are a registered Social Enterprise and we draw on lived experience of addiction and our faith.
