About us
It all started back in 2007. After gambling since he was 16, and developing a full-on problem, Dan nearly lost his wife, home, and everything that mattered.
By the grace of God, Dan stopped gambling. But he had found it difficult to find somewhere to get help. What if there was somewhere that didn’t just focus on the problem but focused on hope for the future?
So in 2015 he set up this social enterprise - Better Futures for Gamblers. We are a Christian ministry, and we are here to support anyone - whether you share our faith or not. We started in Salisbury and we like to meet in person in south Wiltshire or north Dorset, but we can also meet you on Teams anywhere in the UK.
“I have had a severe gambling addiction for the last 10 years or so. I came to a point where I realized this was a severe problem and time to do something about it.
I connected with Better Futures for Gamblers, and from the first meeting I immediately realised this was the place to come to help me stop my addiction. The support I received was very personal and conducted in a way I felt those helping me actually cared about me.
I have now been clear from gambling for 9 months and it has changed my outlook of life and although that sounds cliched it is the truth. I hope anyone reading this will have the confidence to reach out to them too.”
