You have a problem
You just took the Problem Gambling Severity Index - which is a scientific tool to show if someone has a problem and how severe it is.
The PGSI scale goes from 0 to 27, and the threshold for problem gambling is 8 points. Your score was over 23, which indicates that you need specialist support. As such, we think we at Better Futures probably do not have the right solution for your needs. Don't despair though, because there is help out there...
The following options (all free of cost to you) might suit you:
Gordon Moody Association - offers residential support and treatment for people with the severest addictions. It has two centres, one in the Midlands and one in south London.
Charis - is a residential programme which helps men with all addictions, including gambling (especially if you also have drink or drug issues). It is a 12 Step programme which is the world's most commonly used addiction intervention. Please contact us if you are interested in this option and we can help refer you.
National Problem Gambling Clinic - This London-based clinic is led by a Consultant Psychiatrist and is the only NHS provision for gambling addiction. It provides day treatment.
Gamcare - is a national charity, funded by the gambling industry and offers counselling on a daytime basis, as well as a helpline and internet chatline
If you are feeling suicidal, or need someone to talk with right now, then call Samaritans on 116 123 (UK and ROI).
